Back Cover Blurb for Catch of a Lifetime:

Football is his life, but she thinks athletes can get away with murder.

After a tragedy involving a football player destroyed her family, graduate student athletic trainer Cassie Parker moves across the country looking for a fresh start, but a surprise change in financial aid lands her in the middle of her worst nightmare.

Meanwhile, rookie college coach Reed Worthington worries his dream career will slip away as injuries plague his players and his star receiver teeters on the brink of ineligibility.

As the two work together to salvage the season, they struggle to keep their budding romance a secret from the team. However, after a scandal erupts, Reed must choose between the game he loves and the woman who just might be the catch of a lifetime.

If you like college football, clean romance, and faith-based fiction with authentic characters, then you’ll love this standalone debut from Candee Fick. Get Catch of a Lifetime and kick-off the action-packed adventure today.

    1. Thank you! It debuted with a different cover, but about six months later my publisher changed to this one and sales skyrocketed. It's definitely a fun football romance.

  4. I do enjoy school football. It is understandable there can be incidents in our lives that influence how we perceive others and judge them. We need to learn to let go and judge everyone on their own merits.

    1. I dug deep into the issue of stereotypes against the backdrop of a racially diverse (fictional) college football program. The heroine judges based on their occupation as athletes, but I created several more scenarios where the package doesn't match the person. Learning to forgive after one incident can free us to look deeper in the future. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. As the wife of a football coach, I have to agree! And with this fall's college football schedule in jeopardy across the nation, this story packs in the drama of the season without any fear of a virus...

  6. I previously discovered this author through the Christian Reading Safari readathon a few years ago and I've spotlighted her stories on my blog as well. I never had the chance to read one of the books myself or see if I could borrow them through interlibrary loan. This year for the reading safari I've been trying to read the stories I've won in the past and a few stories lingering on my shelf - it would be a lovely surprise to read one of Ms Fick's. Thank you for the chance to win one of hers - she's definitely an author I look forward to reading.

    1. Aww... That's sweet. I've had quite a few non-football fans tell me they loved the book so hopefully you get a chance to read it.

  11. I absolutely LOVE football. There aren't enough books out there that involve the sport. And, as a coach's wife, I know the author actually knows something about football. :)

    1. So true. This is the only book of mine that my husband actually read...and not only did he like the story, but he only found one minor issue in the way a certain play was called. Said he would have called the play something slightly different. But that's the only football related thing he brought up! SO whew!

Here's hoping you get to watch some football this fall somewhere. Or at least feed the cravings with a good book. ;-)
