My Review for "The Story of Everything" documentary film

When Momentum Influencers Network (MIN) asked me to review “The Story of Everything” feature-length documentary film by Sypher Studios, I agreed because it sounded like a wonderful opportunity to explore how scientific findings can prove the existence of a divine Creator. We are not here by accident. Life has purpose. And we are not alone because the Creator (God) of all that exists is always with us. I also thought this film would be a good resource for people who doubt God exists and believe there’s no life after death.

But before I share my review with you, I’d like to share a few words from Momentum Influencers Network about this film:

After a successful nationwide theatrical run that sparked conversation across faith, science, and culture, “The Story of Everything” is now available to purchase on Amazon Prime Video!

Inspired by Stephen C. Meyer’s bestselling book Return of the God Hypothesis, the cinematic documentary invites audiences to explore one of humanity’s oldest—and most consequential—questions: Does the evidence point to a universe shaped solely by blind chance, or is there evidence of purpose and design?

Synopsis: “The Story of Everything” is a cinematic exploration of the cosmos that reveals the hidden hand behind our universe. From the precise laws that govern the stars to the intricate patterns found in every living cell, the film traces evidence of intentional design throughout nature. Whether examining distant star-forming clouds or the spiral structure of DNA, we discover a consistent signature woven into the fabric of existence.

~*~
My Review for “The Story of Everything”

“The story of everything has purpose, that behind everything there is an author. The alternative is that none of that is true. We are the result of blind and impersonal processes that did not have us in mind.”

This quote (above) was mentioned toward the end of this feature-length film. But it holds the meaning of the film’s title. After hearing it, I knew that’s why this production was called “The Story of Everything”. It really shows how the core message of this film was to present two main schools of thought: Belief in a Creator of all things vs. Belief that we were created by nothing and our life has no real meaning. I think these are important points to explore as part of the human experience on Earth. As a believer, I’ll always point you to Jesus Christ. He is the Savior of humankind and the His divine light breaks through the darkness in our world. Like a popular Christian bumper sticker says: “Know Jesus, know peace. No Jesus, no peace!” I have found this saying to be true in my everyday life.

But Jesus Christ is a true gentleman. He’s not going to force you to believe in Him. He always gives humankind the freedom to choose who we will serve. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:15).

If you are on a search for truth but don’t want to start with a Bible yet, start with this film then pick up The Holy Bible (you can buy a physical copy or read it via Bible Gateway online for free) and ask God’s Holy Spirit to help you understand the words you are reading. It is key to ask Him to teach you as you read because the Bible is understood through a spiritual lens, not a lens of doubt or a carnal mind.

Speaking of truth, this other quote was also mentioned in the film, “Sometimes the path toward the truth leads through beauty. And that is an important window. We need to be willing to open that.” Those words resonated with me because I never thought about my search for truth like that before. This film is filled with profound messages that will make you think and challenge you to decide what you believe.

On a lighter note: The set designs for most of this movie looks like it is from the 1970s. Many of the people who were interviewed or spoke on camera also were dressed in a way that looked like eras of the past. However the set design and clothing style did not take away from the points made in this movie.

If you have a scientific mindset or are curious to know how everything we see in space and experience on earth was created, then this movie is for you. Every detail is designed to make you think and ponder Biblical truth supported by science when it comes to the questions, “Is there a Creator of everything? Is God real?”

This movie might help you answer those questions.

Disclosure: Many thanks to Sypher Studios for providing a sample of the product for this review. Opinions are 100% my own.

My Review of "The Sacred Thread"

When Momentum Influencers Network (MIN) asked me to review “The Sacred Thread” docuseries by Angel Studios, I agreed because it sounded like a wonderful opportunity to dig deeper into God’s Word (The Holy Bible) and understand what The Lord’s Prayer truly means, which is what this series is centered on. After watching all seven episodes that were each about 30 minutes long, I had a better understanding of The Lord’s Prayer. Now, I want to share my review of this helpful resource with you!

But before I share my review with you, I’d like to share a few words from Momentum Influencers Network about this inspirational docuseries:

Most people know The Lord’s Prayer. Very few understand the world, language, and meaning behind it. The Sacred Thread takes viewers deep into the historical and cultural context of Scripture, helping audiences experience The Lord’s Prayer the way Jesus’ original audience would have heard it. This is not just another Bible study. It’s a cinematic journey through the land, history, language, and deeper meaning of one of the most important prayers ever spoken.

Angel continues to create thoughtful, high-quality series that make Scripture feel alive, relevant, and deeply personal.

These are the target audiences for “The Sacred Thread”

Primary Audiences:

● Christians and faith-based audiences

● Bible study groups and church communities

● Viewers interested in Biblical history and context

● Families looking for meaningful, spiritually enriching content

● Audiences who enjoy Scripture-focused documentaries and teaching series

Secondary Audiences:

● Young adults exploring faith more deeply

● People wanting to better understand the Bible

● Fans of thoughtful, cinematic nonfiction storytelling

● Viewers who enjoy historical and cultural exploration

The Sacred Thread is a cinematic documentary series exploring the Lord’s Prayer through the historical, cultural, geographical, and literary world in which Jesus first spoke it. Hosted by Brad Gray and featuring insights from scholars including N.T. Wright, the series takes viewers across biblical landscapes to uncover the deeper meaning and context behind one of the most well-known prayers in Scripture.

Through cinematic storytelling and accessible scholarship, the series invites audiences to see Scripture with fresh eyes and rediscover the richness, depth, and relevance of the Biblical text.

~*~
My Review of “The Sacred Thread” series:

“The Sacred Thread” series is hosted by Brad Gray. Everything about this docuseries is well done. It is equally educational as it is inspirational.

The cinematic storytelling style of this series truly drew me in. I couldn’t stop watching it so I binge-watched all seven episodes in only two days.

I appreciated the deep dive into the culture and heritage of the people who lived in the ancient world during the time the Bible was being written. It helped me understand the historical context and background of the Bible. I also appreciated that each episode was no more than 30 minutes long because that made it easier to digest. The way each episode was structured proved to be clear, concise and very rich in the story being told.

Every episode was informational and inspiring in a way that stays with you. But the one that resonated with me most deeply was the third episode, titled, “Holy Be Your Name”. This is what stood out to me:

I was impressed to learn what it means to hallow God’s name. They said that taking the Lord’s name in vain doesn’t mean to use His name as a swear word; it means misrepresenting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It reminds me of the Gospel music song “Wear Your Name” by Gylchris Sprauve.

I loved learning about how the term for the rich color “Royal blue” was coined and learning why God wanted His people to have this color on the clothes they wore. Brad Gray (the host) said, “Blue held significant value in the ancient world because it was arduous to make and hard to come by. This was a color used only for people of high standing or of royalty. Hence, the designation “Royal blue” and God called His people to have this color on them.”

Blue, purple and scarlet were the principal colors in the Tabernacle design. And therefore, they played the leading role in the visual representation of God’s dwelling here on Earth. Another fact: Blue was the predominant color of the clothes work by the high priests. They said, “The high priests and the priests were responsible for mediating on behalf of God to the Israelites. But the Israelites as a whole were responsible for mediating on behalf of God to the rest of the world. And that blue cord was a reminder of their identity and mission as a kingdom of priests.”

They also said, “The other implication for why God chose blue revolved around status. Remember, the Israelites prior to the exodus had the identity of slaves. Now, they’re being instructed to wear blue, the color of royalty. From rags to royalty quite literally. God wanted His people to remember daily who they were. So, when they looked down and saw the blue cord contrasting against the white ones, they were reminded that they wore the priestly color, they carried the name of God and they were valued as treasured royalty.”

The final powerful point that they said during this episode was about salt and its Biblical role in Christian living. They said, “While we think of salt primarily as a seasoning, in a world without refrigeration, salt was used as a preservative to make food last longer. And because of this, salt became a symbol in the Hebrew Scriptures for God’s long lasting covenant faithfulness to His people. So, when Jesus says you are the salt of the earth, He’s saying that’s you, that’s your identity. When you follow God’s commandments and carry His name well, you’re preserving life in a world of decay.”

All the episodes were good but this one (Episode 3) was the most well-thought, planned and presented one that really had special significance that can apply to our journey with Jesus Christ in our modern-day era. I was most inspired by this one.

If you want to know more about the meaning of The Lord’s Prayer as well as learn more about the Bible, then “The Sacred Thread” series is for you. Each episode focuses on a verse of The Lord’s Prayer then breaks it down with historical context and Biblical accuracy. The way this is done is second to none. I hope you will sign up for the Angel Guild and watch every episode in this docuseries. God bless you!

My Review of the NKJV New Testament, Tracing Edition

When Momentum Influencers Network (MIN) asked me to review the NKJV New Testament, Tracing Edition, I readily agreed because I love reading God’s Word (The Holy Bible) and sharing it with everyone! This version of the Bible is a bit unique because of the way it presents itself as a tool to encourage your memorization of Scripture by tracing every word throughout the New Testament.

But before I share my review with you, I’d like to share a word from Momentum Influencers Network about this innovative product:

Write God’s Word into your heart by tracing Scripture verse-by-verse through the New Testament. For years, scientists have connected handwriting with improved learning. Designed for a unique, devotional experience, the NKJV New Testament, Tracing Edition provides an opportunity to read and write through the beautiful gospel and promises of the New Testament from Matthew to Revelation.

This special edition has lightly printed text allowing you to trace the words of Scripture easily. Wide margins and a clean, single-column typesetting complete the intentional design. Chapter headings are printed regularly for easy navigation, or you can engage more deeply using the included tracing themes and reading plans on love, hope, grace, comfort, peace, eternal life, anxiety, spiritual gifts, community, heaven, Holy Spirit, and faith.

According to MIN, the features that compose this Bible include: Easy to trace, 17-point, the entire New Testament is in a gray-scale, ideal for tracing with wide margins that invite note taking and/or art designs and unique, lay flat spine design makes tracing comfortable right or left handed.

MIN also says: Familiarity with Scripture is deepened by reading and writing. This is an excellent activity to do with your family.

~*~
My Review for MIN of the “NKJV New Testament, Tracing Edition” Bible:

The first thing I liked about this Bible was the packaging. The Bible is enclosed inside a box covering that is smooth to touch. I also like the green, earthy colors of the box. I like how the front top of the box shows a person’s hands holding the Bible. It is open to the page that starts 2 Corinthians. I like how it shows the person pausing from practicing what this Bible is designed for: tracing God’s Word.

You can see that the person’s right hand is holding black ink pen and that they have been carefully tracing every word of this Scripture starting on 2 Corinthians 1:1.

I like how this Bible only includes the New Testament of God’s Word because it would be too bulky if it included the Old Testament as well. However, I would like to see this Tracing Edition have another Bible that covers the Old Testament. If it’s not too bulky, I think it would be ideal for the publishers to produce a Tracing Edition for the whole traditional Bible starting with the book of Genesis and ending with Revelation because that would be more comprehensive and powerful.

The back cover of the box says these helpful words about this Bible: “Designed for a unique devotional experience, this edition provides an opportunity to read and write God’s Word into your heart by tracing Scripture through the New Testament. The lightly printed text guides you to trace the words in a handwriting-friendly font. Its specialty sewn binding lies fully and conveniently flat, so it’s suited for both left and right-handed writers.” The features include traceable verses, lightly printed text in a clean single-column typesetting, substantial 60 gsm paper ideal for writing, 10 topical reading plans, exposed Smyth-sewn binding to lay flat and it uses the NKJV translation for all the Scripture within this Bible.

Thomas Nelson is one of my favorite Christian book publishers and I believe they lived up to their standard of excellence when creating this product.

When I took the Bible out of the box, I was impressed by how lightweight it felt to hold and how textured to touch. The golden tan colored front cover of this Bible features no words, only a picture of a small bunch of golden color flowers on a stem with a few leaves. The back cover of features a Bible verse (Matthew 24:35): “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”

The first page I saw as I opened this tracing edition of God’s Word was the dedication page where the reader can fill in the blank spaces under the words “Presented to” and “By” and “On” to make it personal if they intended to give this Bible to someone as a gift. The next page is the title page that says this tracing edition of the New Testament is “engaging the New Testament word by word”.

I noticed the same font style was used for the words “Tracing Edition” and “Contents” and “The New Testament” on the next page that is the Table of Contents. The font style looks like the brushstroke of a painter.

The next page tells the reader how to use this Bible. It says this is a “journaling opportunity to write the text of Scripture” and it says more that you can read. The following pages spend ink talking about the “Preface to the New King James Version” and “Topical Reading Plans” that touch on “Grace” and “Hope” and “Anxiety” and “Love” and “Peace” and “Comfort” and so much more! Scripture references are listed under each topic so that the reader can look it up and learn.

After the Topical Reading Plans section, the reader can turn the page and begin tracing God’s Word starting with Matthew 1:1. The Bible verses look barely there because the text is a very light gray color. However, this is necessary so that the reader can take a writing utensil and carefully trace every letter and every word. I found this to be unique and conducive to studying Scripture.

After the last line Revelation, this immersive experience ends. But I believe you can always begin again with another Bible or writing Scripture in a journal.

I highly recommend this tracing edition of the New Testament to anyone who wants to better understand and memorize God’s Word, especially new believers.

~*~
My Review of The Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids

The first thing I noticed about this book is the colorful and decorative cover with pictures and a design that is very kid-friendly. I believe this factor alone will draw children to this book and encourage them to ask their parents to buy it for them.

When I opened the book, two blank pages covered in a gorgeous shade of teal greeted me. This hue of blue put my mind at ease at once and created a sense of calm in my spirit. It helped me to relax and prepared me to read this book.

The most surprising feature of this book is the Table of Contents because it is listed by the letters of the alphabet and each letter corresponds to a page. For example, it looks like this:
A…2 and B…18. I’ve never seen this before, so I found that feature to be intriguing and it encouraged me to keep turning the page to figure it out.

After the Table of Contents is a page that says, “For Parents and Teachers”. I found this to be important to inform adults who may want to read this book with their children. This letter prepares them to be able to properly instruct the children about God’s Word and the people who we read about in the Bible.

Following the letter to the parents and teachers, there is a short section on one page titled “Just for Kids”. I found that to be very user-friendly and something the kids will love because it makes them feel included and like this is their book even though they might need an adult to help them read it.

The next three pages are very colorful and filled with facts that teach about reconstructions, illustrated charts, definitions, Name of God and other features including a pronunciation guide that the reader will encounter in this book.

Finally, we turn the page to see the title page: “The Explorer Bible Dictionary for Kids” and that lets the reader know their journey through God’s Word has begun.

The first page we see as we start reading the Bible Dictionary portion of this book is the letter “A” in big case and lower case and beneath to the right page we see that A stands for Aaron (a Bible character) then we read all about him. We learn about his story in the Bible, his birthdate, the meaning of his name, his occupation, his relatives, his claim to fame and a few related details.

After Aaron we turn the page to learn about Abraham who was known to be a friend of God then Adam who was the first man God created on Earth. As we continue turning the next few pages, we learn more about Bible characters, including a woman named Anna who was old and known to be faithful to the Lord.

Something that impressed me was the attention to detail, not only with the content but in the page layout design and illustrations. It is very vibrant but careful not to overload the reader with too much information or too many images. Impressive!

This book follows the same layout format for every page until we reach the last two pages after the letter Z. The final page to the left lists the Art Credits and the final page on the right concludes those details. The last two pages of this book are the same gorgeous shade of teal that restores a sense of calm to the reader’s mind.

I highly recommend this book to all children within the publisher’s target audience. I believe it provides an immersive experience that is very educational and informative at the same time. I think the content will not only enrich young minds but encourage the youth to ask questions about the Bible and that is a good thing.

"He Calls Me Daughter" (film) is now streaming online via Angel Studios

When Momentum Influencers Network (MIN) asked me to share more about the film titled “He Calls Me Daughter”, I agreed because my life was positively impacted through watching this film a few weeks ago and I believe this documentary would make a significant difference in the lives of females who are suffering from father wounds and struggling in their faith walk with Jesus Christ.

He Calls Me Daughter
will start streaming via Angel Studios this April 23. Angel is a platform for deeply personal, healing-centered stories rooted in faith.

Before I share my review with you, I’d like to share words from Angel Studios about this film:
He Calls Me Daughter is a deeply personal and emotionally powerful film that explores what it means to carry a father wound and what it takes to heal from it. Through raw storytelling and spiritual insight, the film reveals how unmet needs from an earthly father can shape identity, relationships, and self-worth. But it also offers a path forward. One rooted in the love of a Heavenly Father who restores, redeems, and redefines what it means to be a daughter. This is not just a story about pain. It is a story about healing, forgiveness, and identity.

Here’s some additional info from Angel Studios with some notes from me:

What happens when the one meant to protect you is the one who hurt you?

Now there’s a movie filled with real-life stories and ending with practical resources to help you heal those wounds from your earthly father and show you the pure, healthy and protective love of your Heavenly Father.

This documentary is for:
Women navigating pain, abandonment, or broken relationships with their fathers. Faith-based audiences seeking healing, identity, and restoration. Parents, especially fathers, who want to better understand their role and impact. Viewers drawn to emotionally resonant, testimony-driven storytelling.

Core Themes in this film are:

1. God as the Perfect Father

Even when earthly fathers fail, God’s love remains constant, personal, and healing. He steps into the gaps left behind and restores what was missing.

2. Healing the Father Wound

The “father wound” shapes how daughters see themselves, love others, and relate to God. This film brings language and clarity to that pain, while offering hope for healing.

3. Forgiveness Through God

Forgiveness is not easy. It is a process made possible through a relationship with God, who enables true release and restoration.

4. Identity as a Daughter

At the core of the film is a powerful truth: your identity is not defined by what you lacked, but by who calls you His.

5. A Message to Fathers

Fathers play a critical role in shaping their daughters’ sense of worth and security. This film is both a wake-up call and an invitation to show up, love deeply, and lead well.

Why Angel Matters

Angel provides a home for stories that go beyond entertainment and into transformation. He Calls Me Daughter is the kind of film that resonates deeply but is often overlooked by traditional platforms. Angel ensures stories like this are seen, shared, and experienced by the people who need them most.

This film speaks directly to the pain many women carry but rarely name. We want women to know: Healing is possible, even from deep father wounds. Your identity is not defined by your past, but by your Heavenly Father. Forgiveness is not weakness, it is freedom. Fathers have the power to shape, protect, and affirm their daughters.

The tone and style of this film is:

● Emotionally honest and vulnerable

● Hopeful, healing, and faith-centered

● Reflective rather than preachy

● Personal and relatable

● Uplifting without minimizing pain

If your relationship with your dad left wounds, this film is for you.

Call to Action:
Watch He Calls Me Daughter now on Angel and experience a story of healing, identity, and restoration. Join the Angel Guild to support more stories that bring hope, healing, and truth to the screen.

~*~
My Review of “He Calls Me Daughter” (film):

Captivating. Poignant. Transformational.

Those are three words to accurately describe this film aptly titled “He Calls Me Daughter”. If you are a female who has had a complicated relationship (or no relationship) with your earthly father so much so that it has distorted your view of your Heavenly Father, then this movie is for you.

Filled with real-life stories and testimonies from women in the real world, this movie will touch your heart and transform your mind to see God as who He really is—a loving Heavenly Father who will heal your wounds inflicted by your earthly father if you let Him.

This movie highlights the pain of several women—a few who are not well-known but have influence and the rest who are famous, including Christian comedian Chonda Pierce and Lynsi Lavelle Snyder-Ellingson who the owner and heiress of the In-N-Out Burger company that is popular in the state of California. The testimonies shared by these ladies are both heart-touching and heart-wrenching at the same time. But the powerful point in everyone’s story is how God has touched the broken hearts of these women and carefully restored their faith in His Love which is greater than the love any earthly father can give his daughter.

I like how this movie showed a full-circle journey for each woman featured. I also appreciated how they featured stories that a variety of women from different backgrounds, ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds can relate to. This movie leaves no stone unturned in getting their core message across to women who are hurting.

This film was worth the time I spent watching it. At the end of the film, the hosts talk to the audience for a few minutes to point them to a resource you access by scanning a QR code. The resource is a curriculum for women who need help healing from their father wounds.

I highly recommend this documentary to all females who are suffering from father wounds and need a healthy dose of hope and healing from their Savior.

My Review of the She Reads Truth Spiral-Bound Notetaking Bible

When Momentum Influencers Network (MIN) asked me to review the She Reads Truth Spiral-Bound Notetaking Bible, I readily agreed because I love reading God’s Word (The Holy Bible) and sharing it with everyone!

But before I share my review with you, I’d like to share a word from Momentum Influencers Network and a few notes from me about this product:

The She Reads Truth Spiral-Bound Notetaking Bible experience was designed with special attention to the details to make opening your Bible every day even more enjoyable.

These details include:

• Spiral-bound CSB, like you’ve never seen before

• Beautifully illustrated key verses

• Wide margins for journaling, notes and prayers

• Daily reading logs for accountability

• Five volumes, perfect for portability

• Built-in community with other women through She Reads Truth

• Additional study helps like timelines, maps, charts & book introductions

Before reading this Bible, I was familiar with the She Reads Truth ministry for women. I must admit, this notetaking Bible does not disappoint!

~*~
My Review of the She Reads Truth Notetaking Bible for the New Testament:

The first thing I noticed was how big and heavy this product is…so huge that you would think it contains the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation inside. But true to the title written horizontally on the far-right side of the cover, this book only contains the New Testament (Matthew through Revelation) of The Bible.

I found the spiral ring binding of this book to be a bit problematic because it often got stuck when I tried to open the book and turn the pages. I also think that while the cover subtle gray cover with a hue of gold and bronze is pretty, the font size for title of this Bible is too small and can almost be missed where it is positioned.

The first page you see when you open this book is neatly laid out, clearly written and easy to read. The designer and publisher used white space perfectly on this page. I think it is impressive that two women (Raechel Meyers and Amanda Bible Williams) were the general editors for this edition. It is also impressive that the publisher (Andy McLean) has a Ph.D.

I appreciate the letter from the editor for the readers on the second page to the right. The tone was warm and welcoming. The letter was very comprehensive in describing who this edition is intended for (women) and how to get the most out of your Bible reading experience with the added details that speak to the heart of women who are following Jesus Christ.

The Table of Contents was neatly laid out and centered on one page. The next page instructs you how to read the New Testament. It is followed by a reading log that spans four pages. It is there where you can note the date when you studied each chapter of each book in this Bible.

This is followed by two pages spent on introducing the reader to the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) which is the translation for all the Scripture within this book. After that is one page explaining the abbreviations, you will see as you read this CSB translation. I thought this was helpful.

I liked the artwork on the back of the page that tells you are about to start reading the New Testament with the book of Matthew. The artwork features blue mountains and white cloudy skies. A Bible verse is written in the center. The color scheme calms your mind and prepares you to read God’s Word.

Before you read the first verse, there is a page that leads you into Matthew with a historical timeline, Biblical background, tells you the message and purpose of Matthew then provides a note of thanks for this book.

When you turn the page, you will see a detailed map of The Passion Week in Jerusalem. On the right page, you will see a detailed outline of this book (Matthew). The next page starts with verse one of chapter one of Matthew. I appreciated how easy it was to read because of the larger than usual font size and extra space between each verse. I also liked the lines set across the wide margins of every page so I can take notes as is the purpose of this edition of the Bible.

All the books in this Bible have the same format, layout and details that I described in the first book (Matthew). I appreciated the consistency and attention to detail.

The final page with text on it lists the names and titles of the people who contributed to this beautiful Bible and made it ready to read. I appreciated that they gave credit where credit is due.

After the page that lists the contributors, there are a few final pages that are each completely blank. Perhaps that is intended for the reader to take more notes, write a journal entry or create their own artwork based on what they read in this Bible.

Overall, I like this edition for women and recommend it to every female not only in the She Reads Truth community, but worldwide.

But before I share my review with you, I’d like to share a word from Momentum Influencers Network and a few notes from me about this product:

~*~
My Review of the CSB Women’s Study Bible:

The first thing I noticed about this CSB Women’s Study Bible is that it has a lovely cover that is soft to touch and detail-oriented in its design. Pictured on the cover are thin golden vines with branches that yield fruit (grapes in this case) as well as healthy looking green leaves. In the center of this garden like picture is a horizontal gold colored diamond with the words “Women’s Study Bible” in the center.

When I opened this Bible, I noticed that the Table of Contents was neatly formatted and despite the small font size, it was easy to read.

There is an “Introduction and Welcome” section on the next page. Stefana Dan Laing, PhD, wrote this page. She is the General Editor of this Bible. Her words on this page welcome the reader in a warm but authoritative tone of voice. It is clear that Laing is an expert in her field and knows the Bible very well.

The next few pages are filled with infographics that educate the reader and prepare them for what to expect as they delve into their Bible study. I found the “Extended Features List” to be quite helpful. It outlines the title of articles, charts and tables, illustrations and other details that aide the reader in their study of this Bible. It also notes the page numbers where each item on this list can be found.

After that there is “The Story of the Bible” that spans for two pages. The next two pages are titled, “Reading the Bible through the Lens of Genre and Literary Structure”. It felt intense as I read it and was a bit over my head but still helpful.

The last few pages before the first book in The Old Testament, is titled “Introduction of the Christian Standard Bible” and it is a very comprehensive read.

Before each book of the Bible are a few pages with content that educates the reader about the author of that book as well as the context, message and purpose, placement in the Bible’s storyline and other informational details to give the reader background info and important notes to remember as they start studying each book.

Throughout this Bible, there are boxed sections titled “A Closer Look” with text inside the boxed outline that explain details from that chapter and help the reader better understand what they are reading.

After the last book of the Bible (Revelation) is a CSB Concordance that I found hard to read because of the very small font size of the words. It is, however, very comprehensive. You can tell that they covered everything.

The final pages of this Bible include: A three-year Bible reading plan, notes on how to read the Word of God in one year, art credits, the list of people who contributed to this Bible, a list of sources cited, and several pages of colorful maps featuring the geographical settings of the stories in the Bible.

Overall, I think that this is a wonderful Bible with details added that women can relate to and enjoy. The readers will definitely receive a Biblical world-class education as they read this Bible. I highly recommend this book to all women.

~*~
My Review of Enduring Word Study Bible:

I really liked the brown leather soft cover of this Enduring Word Study Bible.

I appreciated the Letter from the General Editor (David Guzik) as he aptly introduced the purpose of this edition of the Bible. He showed the reader how to approach studying and the Bible by first believing there is a God then believing the Bible is God’s Word and knowing the Bible is more than one book, and finally realizing the Bible is reliable.

I liked it the next message that spanned for two pages titled “Getting to Know God”.

Before diving into the first book of Genesis, there are two pages that share the story of the New King James Version this Bible is written in. It is filled with helpful insights.

The most interesting feature are the two pages with color coded boxes that have each book of the Bible listed (one box per book), along with a key at the bottom so the reader can understand what this means. For example: It is noted that John wrote the book of Revelation. It has 22 chapters. This graphic aid was very detail-oriented.

Another nice feature is how there is one page of introduction to each book in this Bible. The intro gives you background, history, notes about the author, and a list of what to look for when reading that book.

Throughout the thin but smooth pages of this Bible are info boxes such as “A Sharper Focus: Before the Beginning” that teaches the reader more about what they are reading that they may not realize on their own. Each info graphic encourages you to really study the Bible, not just read it.

There are also smaller boxes titled “Pastoral Applications Note” with only a few sentences that briefly explain the importance of the Scripture on that page.

When you reach the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), you can see that the direct words spoken by Jesus Christ are written in red. I appreciated this being true to tradition as this is the case in most Bibles regardless of the translation or style.

On the final few pages of this Bible are a concordance and before that there is one page titled, “My Identity in Christ” with two columns and 21 columns that outline what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.

My Review on the Peace of God Bible

When Momentum Influencers Network (MIN) asked me to review the Peace of God Bible, I readily agreed because I love reading God’s Word (The Holy Bible) and sharing it with everyone!

• Line-matched, double-column typesetting

• Clear and readable 9.5-point NKJV Comfort Print®

~*~
My Review on the Peace of God Bible:

I love the box cover that contained the Bible because its blue and orange and yellow color scheme featuring what looks like the sunrise in the mountains over a lake creates a sense of calm in me as the reader. It is like a glimpse into the peace of God that awaits me as I read His Word.

There is only one feature about this Bible that I did not like: The cover design on the actual Bible. While the material feels soft and smooth like leather, I don’t like the etched picture of mountains. Also: The words etched above the mountains “Peace of God” can be easily missed because of the small font size and due to how it fades into the background because it is the same color as the leather covering.

Upon opening this Bible, I noticed the dedication page is clear as day and really stands out with its bigger font size and nice format.

As I turned the pages, I found several things that I liked. Such as: The first few sections that tell the reader how to find the peace of God and keep it, how believers can recover the peace of God, and details about God’s plan of salvation that Jesus Christ accomplished. I found these sections to have powerful messages that can reach readers at any level of their faith journey.

I appreciated the introduction page that comes before the first chapter of each book in the Bible. It starts with notes about the author then mentions the era and theme.

I like how throughout this Bible, there are blue boxes with words written in white ink that provide what looks like a mini devotion anchored on a verse in that book. Such as “The God Who Hears” on page 69 that is anchored on Exodus 2:23. Beautiful!

I love how there are light blue boxes of just the right size with dark blue lettering that says “Peace Note” then there is a one or two sentence note with a question or statement to ponder based on the recent reading of that particular chapter. Clever! The first peace note I read is on page 273. It reads: How do you discover the will of God for your life? Perhaps you have prayed, “Lord, which opportunity shall I pursue?” A clear determiner is the peace of God.” At the end of each peace note is a Scripture reference. This one is Judges 18:6.

When I reached The New Testament that contains the last books in the Bible, I like how true to tradition, words spoken by Jesus Christ are written in red. This helps His direct quotes to stand out against everything else written in black ink.

After the final book (Revelation), there is a very comprehensive Features Index that tells the reader the exact page where each devotion and peace note can be found. Very helpful!

The last few pages of this Bible feature a concordance that can help the reader dive deeper into studying the Bible. Wrapping it up are colorful maps showing what the land and regions looked like during the time when the Bible was written. This is at the very end.

I enjoyed reviewing this Bible and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to experience the peace of God.

~*~
My Review of the Illustrator’s Notetaking Bible:

The first thing I noticed about this CSB “Illustrator’s Notetaking Bible” was the beautiful box cover. I was also surprised by how huge and heavy this Bible was too.

When I took this Bible out of its box cover, I smiled as I felt the smooth, soft leather texture of the front cover, spine and back cover. I like its pretty golden tan color and thought the budding flower imprint in the front cover was lovely and inviting. This all made me want to open this Bible and read it. So, I did, and this is what I discovered:

The interior design has an artsy flair with a flourish of flowers and leaves that decorate the borders of most pages in this sacred book. These designs are simple and open outline inviting the reader to grab some colored pencils and fill in each design to your liking and imagination.

I like how each design on the borders of each book in this Bible align with the Scripture on each page. For example: On page 1 in Genesis there is an outline of the sun, moon, stars, trees, birds, butterflies and a rabbit to support the Creation Story. It is a beautiful feature that also begs the reader to color in each outlined creation.

These beautiful designs do not border every page of this Bible. There are some pages that simply have college rules lines for us to write on. It is a great way to journal your thoughts as you read the Scripture.

There are also Bible verses that are outlined in colorless enlarged texts on the border of some pages that invite you to not only color in those letters but to go deeper in memorizing Scripture. My favorite example of this is on page 1205 which highlights Romans 8:11. The outlined text is artistic with an elegant font that flows down the page.

After the book of Revelation, there is a page that lists a Daily Bible Reading Plan. It looks very comprehensive and not complicated. It seems easy to follow and like you could spend a solid hour with God reading His Word every day as noted.

I found the CSB Concordance at the end to be very helpful and detail-oriented. After that, the final few pages of this Bible contain colorful but dull maps of the Middle East and Northern Africa which is where these Bible stories from Genesis to Revelation took place. I appreciated this informative feature.

Every detail about this Bible was inviting and encouraging me to find a quiet place and read God’s Word more intently. You don’t have to be an artist to appreciate this unique packaging. I think that this design encourages every reader—young and old—to get to know the Author (God) and their Savior (Jesus Christ) as they allow His Holy Spirit to teach the Biblical truths, impart life lessons, give good advice, bestow wisdom, find faith and share hope for our world today that is all found in this beautiful book. It is such a good read that we all need!

Movie Review: Between Borders

Momentum Influencers Network (MIN) invited me to watch a new movie titled “Between Borders” and review it before it shows in theaters. After seeing the riveting trailer, I agreed.

Before I share my review, I’d like to share a word from MIN: This film stars Elizabeth Tabish from “The Chosen” and Elizabeth Mitchell. Watch this moving family film in theaters starting January 26, 2025.

Synopsis: In a crumbling Soviet Union, the Petrosyan family are outcasts wherever they go. Armenian heritage marks them for discrimination both at home in Azerbaijan and in Russia. Based on a riveting true story of faith and hope set amidst great oppression … in the shadow of exile, hope became their home.

~*~
My Review:

Between Borders is a poignant film based on a true story that chronicles the life of the Petrosyan family and portrays their troubled journey to freedom and safety.

Elizabeth Tabish, an actress famous for her role as Mary Magdalene in “The Chosen” (a TV show about the life of Jesus Christ), played Violet Petrosyan. Patrick Sabongui, a Canadian actor and stunt performer, played Ivan Petrosyan who is Violet’s husband. Elizabeth Mitchell is the actress who played the lawyer who was making a case against asylum in the United States of America for the Petrosyan Family.

This movie is remarkable. The acting is beautiful. As I watched each scene, I could feel the emotions of Violet and Ivan. As a woman of color in this real world where people of color are marginalized, I could relate to how Violet felt in many scenarios when she was treated lesser than based on her appearance.

Being part of a community of color that is discriminated against based on race and ethnicity, I understood the plight of the Petrosyan Family as they felt torn about leaving their home where racism was rife, but it was all they knew, and seeking refuge in another country. They bravely faced the unknown in hopes of securing safety and a better life for their family.

In the beginning of the conflict in this movie where crowds of people are marching in the streets holding up signs with words that call for death to the Armenians, Violet tells her family who is concerned about their safety that these threats against Armenians happen off and on throughout history in their country. She assured them that the threats of danger would die down and they would be safe. Her hope was short-lived because in the next few scenes of the movie, some of the people who hate Armenians murdered a friend of the Petrosyan family just because of his ethnicity.

This incident propels Violet and her husband (Ivan) to gather their essential belongings in a few suitcases and flee to Russia. However, their relief proves to be fleeting because within days of living in a small and cold apartment, the Russian cops and a few bad people start to target Ivan. There are several scenes in this movie where Ivan barely survives attacks from the people in Russia who hate him just because he’s Armenian. When Violet searches for a job to help Ivan support their family of four (they have two girls), she can only find work as a teacher and the woman who hired Violet told her that she only is hiring her because there’s a shortage of teachers in their school. She makes it known to Violet that they prefer to only hire “their people” (Russians) and makes Violet repeat words that are meant to dehumanize her and make her feel worthless. Violet’s boss then tells her to recite those words in her head every day at work and remember that her life has no value. This made Violet break down and cry. But she stays strong as accepts the job, showing up faithfully and doing the work even though she faces discrimination and mistreatment in her work environment every single day.

Elizabeth Mitchell plays the lawyer who holds the fate of the Petrosyan family in her hands. Her portrayal of this cold-hearted, racially tone-deaf attorney is well-done. I did not like the negative and cruel way she treated Violet and Ivan. She made them feel lesser than and tried to twist their words when they spoke on the witness stand before the court. This lawyer tried to make it seem like their pain and claims of racism were unfounded. She tried to argue against what Violet and Ivan knew to be true because they experienced it when they lived outside of the USA.

The tension in the courtroom scene is so thick that you can cut it with a knife. And the way that the actors draw you into the story makes you want to know what will happen at the end of this movie. The way that it all plays out will keep you guessing until it’s over.

Final thoughts: This movie was incredibly well-done and delivered. I think it’s worth buying tickets and seeing it for yourself in theaters this Jan. 26 to Jan. 28.

Review of "Grace Bible for Kids"

Momentum Influencer Network invited me to review the Grace Bible for Kids.

I accepted their invitation because I believe this Bible is filling in a gap and will help children who have Dyslexia read the Bible in a much easier and helpful way.

Here are some words from Momentum about this beautiful book: Created in partnership with Holman Bibles, 2K/DENMARK and Cambridge University, the CSB Grace Bible for Kids is designed to enhance readability for kids with all levels and varieties of dyslexia and other reading challenges.

The CSB Grace Bible for Kids features innovative and academically tested typeface, layout, and design principles. These principles include distinct letter forms and added space between letters, words, lines, and paragraphs.

Dyslexia shouldn’t keep kids from reading the Bible. And now, it doesn’t have to! Help every kid experience the truth of God's Word with the CSB Grace Bible for Kids.

~*~
My Review of Grace Bible for Kids:

There are so many things to love about this Bible!

I love the beautiful blue cover that feels soft and smooth to touch. I like the multicolored cross symbol on the front cover. I like the “Grace Bible for Kids” logo on the bottom left of the front cover. I like how the lime green lettering on the book’s spine contrasts with the blue leather material and is accented by orange lines that neatly divides the text.

I like the “How Can the Bible Help You” page on the left side that I saw as soon as I opened the Bible. I like how they presented the help in sections. For example: When you feel “Afraid” they advise you to read Isaiah 41:10 and Hebrews 13:6.

I like how the first few pages have information that serve as a guide to help the reader effectively study the Bible. Such as: “Studying Your Bible” and “Bible Skills” and “Test Your Bible Knowledge” and “Favorite Bible Stories”. There’s even a section titled “How Do I Have Quiet Time with God” and the words beneath that title show you to do that effectively.

The font on every page is larger than the standard and very easy to read.

This Bible is a true gem that caters to kids with Dyslexia and would make a meaningful Christmas gift for the child in your life who struggles to read.

"The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" (movie review)

Momentum Influencers Network invited me to participate in their promotional campaign for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by watching this movie. As a person who loves Christmastime and faith-filled films, I was delighted to say yes!

Before I share my review of this film, allow me to share a few words from Momentum Influencers Network about this wonderful work of art:

Nobody is ready for the mayhem and surprises that ensue when six of the worst youngsters disrupt the town's yearly Christmas performance.

Synopsis: The Herdman kids are absolutely the worst. They lie, they steal, they bully…and they’ve hijacked the town Christmas pageant. Directed by Dallas Jenkins (“The Chosen”) and based on the international bestseller by Barbara Robinson, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER follows six siblings who sneak into church searching for snacks and walk away with the lead roles in the town pageant. Grace (Judy Greer) is directing the performance for the very first time; she and her daughter Beth (Molly Belle Wright) and husband Bob (Pete Holmes) are less than amused. But the play’s mischievous stars might unwittingly teach a community the true meaning of Christmas.

Watch THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER film, in theaters everywhere beginning November 8. The newest film from Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company is based on the beloved children’s book classic book. As of November 2023, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson has sold more than 7 million copies since its publication in 1972.

~*~
My Review:

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever
is a superbly produced movie that made me laugh, cry, smile and rejoice! It was filled with memorable moments that were skillfully portrayed by the abundance of talented actors. It wasn’t only the main characters who had excellence in performance; the acting skills of everyone involved—even the actors in the audience and background—was noteworthy!

When I learned that Dallas Jenkins who directs the hit series, “The Chosen”, was the brains behind this production, it all made sense why it was such an engaging and impeccably done film! This movie is based on a book by Barbara Robinson, international bestseller that I now want to read. The storytelling skills of the screenplay writers of this movie are second to none.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film. Everything about it came together to create a special masterpiece. I think something that makes this movie so special is the fact that it is so relatable. We all—most of us, especially in the USA—can identify with the classic underdog story, one about misfits who save the day! If we ourselves were not misfits, we most likely know several people who are and we’re either rooting for them or avoiding them. I like how in this movie, the crowd went from being fearful of the Herdman children and gossiping about their destructive nature, to rooting for them! You’ll have to watch the full movie to find out how and why they went from hating the Herdmans to loving these troubled children.

I believe that the message in this movie applies to our real life: Don’t count out the people God has counted in. God created everyone—those who act good and those who act bad—and He loves us all the same. God doesn’t endorse evil actions, nor does he want us to do bad things. But God does want us to love everyone how Jesus Christ loves all humankind. Only God can change the heart of someone from hating Christianity to fighting for it—such is the case of how God changed Saul (a persecutor of Christians) into Paul (who then became a warrior for Jesus Christ). You may be surprised to see how faith in God changed the hearts of characters in this movie. It’s a beautiful portrayal of how God never gives up on us and how He uses community, the Bible and the church—as well as unexpected ways—to bring us all together and show us how His love is unconditional.

I won’t say more so I don’t give away everything about this wonderful story! But I will say that if you want to be encouraged and inspired this holiday season, watch this movie. It’s worth your time and your money.

My Review of "Clear Mind, Peaceful Heart" devotional by Lysa TerKeurst

I was delighted to receive an offer from Momentum Influencers Network to participate in a book promotion campaign by reading Lysa TerKeurst’s new devotional "Clear Mind, Peaceful Heart: 50 Devotions for Sleeping Well in a World Full of Worry", and writing a review!

Lysa is one of my favorite Christian authors. She only writes nonfiction in the Christian Living category. This is the first devotional I’ve read that was written by Lysa and her guest writers. It was a wonderful read!

I’m happy to share my review with you but first, here’s a word from Momentum Influencers Network about Lysa’s new book:

God not only has the whole world in His hands; He's holding the details of your life in His faithful hands as well.

What lies heaviest on your heart as you lay your head on your pillow? Are paralyzing fear and anxiety stealing tomorrow's peace? Listen to this invitation from Jesus: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28 NIV).

Experiencing this kind of rest won't come from escapism, more vacation days, or stuffing our feelings. Jesus Himself provides rest to our weary souls. While He may not always fix everything right away, we can fix our thoughts on His Word. In doing this, we can sleep at night with ease knowing that God has it all under control. Through the pages of “Clear Mind, Peaceful Heart”, written by New York Times bestselling author Lysa TerKeurst and her friends at Proverbs 31 Ministries, you will be equipped to:

- Quiet fearful and anxious thoughts that always seem to be the loudest before bedtime by incorporating the Bible into your nightly routine.

- Find relief from the stress of daily obligations and pressures through 50 encouraging devotions and guided prayers written by women like you.

- Release the heaviness you feel about hard situations in your life so you can wake up refreshed and walk into the next day with courage.

Now, here’s my review of "Clear Mind, Peaceful Heart" by Lysa TerKeurst:

Reading this devotional book is like sipping a cup of lemon balm tea. It quiets your mind and soothes your soul as it provides encouragement for your heart.

It truly lives up to its mission to help you focus on God and His Word, not the craziness and catastrophes happening in our world today. I found that reading one of these devotionals every night before going to bed helped me to focus on all the hope given by Jesus Christ. Hope for a hurting world. It was beautiful!

I appreciate how Lysa had guest writers to help fill the pages of this book with their real-life stories and experiences served to the reader in devotional format. It was encouraging to read something different by a new writer each day. Not everybody is the same. So I believe that having different viewpoints from a variety of writers helps to reach a wider audience of readers.

Each devotion in this book was refreshing and well-written. I also appreciate the interior and exterior graphic designs that make this book not only attractive but complete. If you’re struggling with chaos and losing your sense of peace, I encourage you to read this book, and also read the best book (The Holy Bible) prayerfully. God will meet you on those pages and provide comfort.

If you have not read this devotional yet, I encourage you to buy it online or in a local bookstore. Perhaps even ask if your local library carries it and if not, request that they make it available to borrow because it effectively addresses a felt need for so many people in our world today!

My Review of the Unshakable Moxie video series and Bible study

Momentum Influencers Network (MIN) asked me to review “Unshakable Moxie” recently. Before I share my review, learn more about this special Bible study and series hosted by two of my favorite Christian influencers!

Words from MIN:

Unshakable Moxie is an episodic video series that invites you to discover what it means to live a life of resilient faith. The Unshakable Moxie: Growing a Resilient Faith, A 6-Session Women's Bible Study with Video Access is a perfect pairing with the video series to help you develop and strengthen your own life of resilient faith. Unshakable Moxie is hosted by Toni Collier (Broken Crayons Still Color) and Moriah Smallbone (The Chosen). The video series features Lina AbuJamra, Ruth Chou Simons, Katie Lewis, Dr. Bernice King, and Joni Eareckson Tada.

Unshakable Moxie is presented by Our Daily Bread Ministries. This 6-part docuseries and accompanying Bible Study invite you to learn from remarkable women who trust God even through their lowest valleys, allowing Him to write their story as one of resilient faith and overcoming.

The Unshakable Moxie Study Pack includes the 6-lesson Bible Study (with QR codes to the 6 video episodes), a beautiful hardcover Prayer Journal, and inspirational cards that share Scripture and powerful quotes from the series. Each item can also be purchased separately.

What does a “woman of moxie” look like? She is a dynamic, resolute woman of resilient faithfulness, unshakable confidence, and trust in God.

My review:

Unshakable Moxie does a great job delving into topics that we don’t often talk about (hardship, disillusionment and forgiveness). This is a series for people who are looking for real answers to their real-life problems. It is also a wonderful way to use Scripture to encourage women to grow in their faith no matter how troubling the times they are experiencing.

The author of this Bible study, Lina AbuJamra, shares her heart as a woman of moxie throughout the pages of this book. AbuJamra shares the inspiration she has drawn from her life experiences and uses those lessons to teach women how to build a resilient faith that is their own. Each chapter of this study contains a QR code linking to the Unshakable Moxie video series where hosts Moriah Smallbone and Toni Collier take you on faith journeys with special guests including Joni Eareckson Tada, Ruth Chou Simons, and more.

Honestly, I didn’t make it through the entire Bible study and every episode but what I did read and watch was life-changing! I appreciated the honesty of the hosts and everyone who they interviewed. I like how the very first episode was heartwarming with a personal touch as Moriah welcomed Toni into her home as they were preparing for a birthday party. I liked how they inserted humor as they cooked food in Moriah’s kitchen (the spices were too hot, and they laughed about it and quickly drank water from the sink)! I love how they honored Moriah’s grandma and celebrated her family legacy. I like how Toni wore her heart on her sleeve and told intimate details about the lessons she’s learned in her life story. Her storytelling style is relatable and encouraging. I like how Moriah was candid about being hesitant to share her heart with the world because of her guardedness caused by trust issues. Her vulnerability was admirable and courageous. I like how Moriah and Toni’s transparency encouraged every woman they interviewed to open up and be brave as they answered questions that let the viewers into their world.

The Bible study is very comprehensive and detailed. But I was easily overwhelmed by all the questions that are meant for the reader to write their answers and reflections on several lines. This is a homework assignment that goes on for more than five pages. It is the only reason why I haven’t finished reading the study yet. However, the video episodes via the QR code were much more easily digestible.

I recommend this book and video series to any woman who wants to grow spiritually as she tackles the hard parts of her life story and see how God redeems it all as well as how Jesus Christ can make beauty out of ashes.

Now for some words from the publisher, Our Daily Bread Ministries:

In our mission of fueling a global Bible-engagement movement, we strive to make Scripture a part of everyday life, giving the Holy Spirit greater opportunity to transform hearts and help people share the light of Jesus with their spiritual fruit. It is only with the generous prayers, friendship, and support of people across the globe that we can reach the ends of the earth with God’s Word and see how He is continuing to work in the lives and faith journeys of all His children.
