Book review: Trust My Heart by Carol J. Post
Reviewed by Alexis A. Goring, founder of “God is Love” blog

Seasoned author Carol J. Post does a delightful job in creating a beautiful love story between the hero and heroine in her book, Trust My Heart.

It was a pure delight to discover the backstory and explore the depths of characterization for each of Carol’s main characters in this fictional tale.

Despite being fictional, there were a lot of real-world scenarios in this story that made it believable and true to life in the real world. Such as the backstory of Grant (the hero) and his struggle to forgive his mom after Jami (the heroine who is a journalist) uncovers a secret to his past. The way that Grant struggled through the process of coming to terms with the past and dealing with the lies his mother let him believe, was admirable and well written.

I enjoyed learning more about Jami as a journalist. The author was clever in writing the scene where Jami realized that she was on to more than a good story; she was on her way to falling in love with Grant.

I was surprised that Jami had a backstory of dealing with a difficult dad and a mom whose life was claimed by cancer. The tension rooted in negative memories and an unforgiving spirit between Jami and her dad was very tangible. The way that the author wrote these characters made me as the reader care about their welfare and want what’s best for each of their fictional lives.

The author really knows how to tell a story that’s solid, believable and riveting in the best way. Trust My Heart is a story that once read, will not be forgotten.

This book is deserving of a five-star rating!
